Mike White, Ossid vice president and general manager, died April 21 as a result of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. He was 49. White, a 20-year management and engineering veteran, joined Ossid in 2004 and served as its vice president and general manager since February 2007. He previously served as Ossid’s operations manager and was instrumental in integrating its MH product line acquired in 2006. White lived in Fuquay-Varina, NC, and is survived by his parents Carroll and Marjorie White, brother Jim White, and sister-in-law Joy White. Memorial services were held April 26 at Mt. Sylvan Methodist Church in Durham, NC. The White family requests that memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

MGS Machine Corp. (Minneapolis) has hired Ray Musson as a regional sales manager. Musson has nearly 20 years of sales experience, most recently with Thiele Technologies (Minneapolis), where he served as regional manager. Musson will be responsible for the western and international territories for secondary packaging (cartoning and case packing) at MGS. While at Thiele, Musson had a 50% increase in business in his first year and sold more than $1 million in new equipment per year.

Mettler-Toledo Safeline (Tampa, FL) has appointed Cary Chapman as a field service manager and Dick Wyman as regional x-ray sales manager. Chapman has worked in technical service management for more than 25 years. His responsibilities will relate directly to providing world-class service between customers and Mettler-Toledo Safeline’s field service organization. Wyman has more than 17 years’ experience in x-ray sales, applications, research, and development. He will manage x-ray sales within the southern United States.

Cortegra Group Inc. (Parsippany, NJ) has appointed Lisa Kasica as its customer relations manager. Customer relations representatives from all Cortegra sites will report to her. Kasica has 18 years of experience in customer service and sales, and recently worked at Challenge Printing (Clifton, NJ) for eight years in several positions, including as customer service manager and sales account manager.

Label and labeling systems manufacturer Weber Marking Systems (Arlington Heights, IL) has hired Thomas Michalsen as its marketing director. Michalsen joined Weber in 1981 and has served as the company’s manager of media products for the past 18 years. “Tom is a decisive, results-oriented professional,” said Glenn C. Gilly, Weber president and CEO. “His vast product knowledge and experience will add new vision to Weber’s marketing efforts.”
