Boston Scientific Corp. (Natick, MA) has named Donald S. Baim, MD, as executive vice president and chief medical and scientific officer. Baim joined the company from Harvard Medical School, where he was a professor of medicine and senior physician at Brigham and Women's Hospital (Boston).

Biophan Technologies Inc. (Rochester, NY), a biomedical device technology developer, has named John F. Lanzafame as its chief operating officer. Lanzafame had served as head of the Nanolution division since September 2004. In addition to his new role as COO, he will continue to lead the company's business development group.
